In 2020, Hendecagon Consulting was founded by Waliyah Abiola, a dynamic leader with a wealth of experience in finance, technology, and business transformation. Waliyah’s journey, from a former investment bank analyst to a sought-after consultant, is defined by her passion for solving complex business challenges with innovative, data-driven solutions.
With a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, Waliyah seamlessly transitioned into the financial world, holding key roles at JP Morgan and Barclays Capital. Her expertise spans credit derivatives, financial market trading, data analytics, and technology innovation, with a special focus on business transformation, sustainability, and digitalisation. She has a proven track record of driving measurable improvements in business KPIs and maximizing profitability and shareholder value.
A Global Consultant with Expertise
Waliyah has also consulted for Nigerian federal ministries & state governments, International tech startups and private sector companies in the UK and Africa cutting across industries such as Tech, Consumer Applications, FMCG, Real Estate, Tourism and entertainment. Her strategic approach always centres on clarifying objectives, refining key performance indicators, and boosting overall organisational performance.

She has also spoken at the African Achievers Awards at the UK Houses of Parliament on the role of finance in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, further demonstrating her thought leadership on key global issues.
Waliyah is British-born and comes from a notable business family of accomplished entrepreneurs, orators and writers. Her rich family heritage of entrepreneurship and philanthropy in Africa informs her unique ability to drive impactful change. Waliyah’s background in the performing arts has sharpened her communication skills, allowing her to inspire and connect with diverse audiences.
